“Titus Reave, the billionaire executive who has been facing myriad state and federal charges for his alleged plots to incite riots at the upcoming World Economic Conference, has been attacked by a crazed, knife wielding homeless man earlier today.
“Reports are that he was being escorted from his lawyer’s offices when the attack occurred.”
“That’s right Kevin, the attack took place as Mr. Reave was walking to his vehicle outside his lawyer’s office building. Accounts are sketchy but it has been reported that the knife wielding man badly slashed Mr. Reave’s face and neck. Mr. Reave barely escaped the attack with his life and went immediately into seclusion at an unknown location.”
“Mandy, we have further reports that Mr. Reave’s own security detail failed to step forward to head off the attack. “
“That’s right Kevin. And to make an already amazing story even more interesting, we have received a brief written note from Mr. Reave in the last half hour. This note has been disseminated to all news media in the city and nation.
“It says and I quote,”
‘Animals! You are all Animals! You ignore your fate and send your creatures to assassinate me out of jealousy and fear of my superiority. Well you failed today and for that, this world will pay! I am now disfigured. I am told that the best my plastic surgeons can do is reduce the size of scars. There is little they can do for what has happened to
my neck.
‘I believe that my superiority has been proved since I’ve survived that injury. Insects! Animals!
‘I can no longer go by the name of Titus Reave. You have stolen my place in society, you have attempted to steal my money and my freedom. Today you have stolen my face. So now I re-name myself and commit myself fully and entirely to destroying this city and making it my scrap heap when I rule the world.
