LEGACY OF THE NORNS
Dwarves
Dwarves are the foremost craftsmen in the nine worlds. No-one can make any object better than the greatest dwarfish smiths. They have a natural disposition to the task, and they have centuries of collective experience. Even the gods, when they seek an item of mighty and wondrous crafting, come to the dwarves. The dwarves, knowing the value of their craft, seek to gain fair compensation for all they do. It is this trait that those who are not dwarves often confuse with deceit.
Dwarves seek only what is rightfully theirs. From time to time, some will allow this definition to grow beyond a normal boundary, but this is to be expected. Dwarves neither expect nor require the respect of those with whom they do business. A simple agreement and the holding thereto is sufficient. Among the talents of the Dwarves, though, is the crafting of those agreements. Dwarves will often create terms which appear favorable to the bargain-maker, but which, by craft, are favorable to the dwarf.
Outlook:
Aesir: The gods and god-spawned are arrogant, but wealthy and powerful. They are good customers, but bad debtors.
Elves: Elves must have an important job, but it is of little import to the matters of dwarves.
Giants: Giants are clever and wise. They, like the gods, are good customers.
Men: Men are simple-minded and easily fooled. They rarely know the difference between craft and junk, they do not value what they give up, and they seldom ask for full price. They are the best customers of all, for precisely these qualities.
Night Elves: Night elves have an important job, but it is of little import to the matters of dwarves.
Vanir: Their time is past, and their concerns are not with those of dwarves.
