A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed

You are all friends and associates in the classic St. Louis tradition, most living here in the city but a couple of individuals who have left, have just arrived for a visit.  Most of you are around college age, and most of you are in college at St. Louis University, a local Catholic/Jesuit University.

Of course, there are a few older individuals or non-college attendees amongst you, some choosing another route in life, some feeling it wasn't a necessary journey given the conditions they were born into.  Regardless of background, you are friends, and what should be a nice time, has turned into a very serious and sour time indeed.

A friend, who apparently has it all being born into wealth and prestige, is in some very big trouble indeed.  He's being accused of serial murders that have gripped the city every evening with apprehension about what macabre news might be in store the following morning.

Your childhood friend stands as the primary suspect.  Thing is, in spite of the circumstantial evidence that has most of you settling in for a harsh reality about someone you thought you knew, he claims innocence and is begging for your help to clear his and his family's name.  Of course, the only way anybody will believe him at this point is to find out what is really going on and who is really to blame.  This normally happy go lucky friend is shaken as are you all. Disturbingly, even he seems unsure of his own story and claims of innocence.  Hesitantly he asks for help in uncovering the truth, but even he seems to fear what it may reveal.

It's up to you.

Do you believe your friend and help him find the true criminal, or do you attempt to bring the killings to an end by completing the unfortunate process of finding the irrefutable evidence necessary to put your childhood friend away forever or worse?

The city and its resources are available.

You have your wits, your contacts, your family, etc.

How far are you willing to go?

How deep are you willing to dig? (no pun intended, I swear)

And what will you do with whatever you find?

...even if that means the unthinkable...
